Nom de guerre Viyan Antar, her real name was Asya Ramazan Antar, 19-year-old from the city of Qamishlo. Viyan joined the Women's Defense Units (YPJ) on 2015 in Qamishlo and she participated in five military campaigns against Daesh in northern Syria, operating as a team leader and machine gunner. Viyan has one sister and three brothers. She was born in a patriot Kurdish family in which six of her cousins and her uncle were killed for the Kurdish freedom struggle in Rojava. She lived in Qamishlo. After liberation of Manbij Viyan continued fighting in the city’s countryside where on August 30 she was martyred in action in the village of Yasli.
